David, unless there are two Nodule Points, the one I know (well) is on the SE coast of Marrowstone Island. M. Machette, Quimper Geological Society, Port Townsend.
Buttonwood is another name for a sycamore tree. I'm not sure what this says about Davidson's abilities as a naturalist.
Aha!! Now it makes me wonder if the so-called Leaning Tree was actually leaning or even a tree! Thanks for the information.

David, I took swimming lessons from Helene Madison, Seattle's Olympic champion swimmer, at Moore Pool. Must have been in the late 1950s.
