Thanks for your interesting article on city eagles. I was recently on South Whidbey Island and was privileged to see 5 eagles soaring in a stationary position in the Southerly wind about 700 feet high. I am going to guess your photo is from the cliffs of Discovery park.

Your story about your first eagle spotting on your return to Seattle reminds me of my surprise sighting a number of years ago. I was walking in Myrtle Edwards Park and saw two eagles in a tree not too far from the south entrance to the park. The park is on my regular walk these days and I see one or two eagles fairly often. It makes my day!

As for the location of the photo, seems like it would be near the Duwamish River or possibly West Seattle (per your note of the ground rising 20 feet).
