60! Dang. I ain't that young obnoxious punk who you met way back in the day, when we were both much younger. Now I am simply that older obnoxious guy! Thanks for your friendship.
I just love this. I can never quite decide who I enjoy more: the people who notice every bird and dragonfly, or their partners who manage the world so that the person they love best can notice every bird and dragonfly.
It is delightful to hear your voice, Marjorie. As in bicycle racing, it is the teamwork behind the scenes that allows the success we see standing on the podium.
Happy Birthday David! Marjorie, thank you for this touching portrait, with humor and pictorial demonstrations of David finding the hidden. BTW 60 isn't bad....
A very happy birthday to David! Here's to the beauty and diversity of paying attention to the things that bring joy. And here's to sharing that joy with others.
I recently "lost" my husband so your essay was particularly poignant for me. Mine was a physicist and I am a farmer. He taught me lots about the night sky (and LOVED the phrase "waxing gibbous moon.") and taught me a few basics about physics...hot air doesn't rise, air that's lighter rises. Also, going too slow makes drivers behind us lose momentum...I always thought that was hilarious. We birded together and he learned a few plant names. We were a great team.
What a great profile! I'm struck by what a wonderful partner and companion you are, Marjorie. Like David, I spend most of my time searching out the creatures around me but my friends don't quite exhibit the same joy that you do :-) You are very lucky to have found each other!
Thank you, Marjorie. Your perspective on David is very much appreciated. It’s a team effort! Happy Birthday, David.
What fun to hear Marjorie’s voice! Happy 60th, David!
Thanks, Amy. I had fun doing it
Very nice Marjorie!! And happy 60th to your guy.

As you know, Marjorie's amazing! Go with her.
Happy birthday! I ordered your new book for my Seattle family. What fun we’ll have using your book with them when visiting.
I hope you enjoy the book and have fun with your family.
I thought David was quick and witty; but, Marjorie, you may be wittier. What a fun post.
And smarter and better looking and nicer!
An eloquent reflection on you, David and your relationship.
What a pleasure to know you both.
Thanks
Thanks kindly. As I say, Marjorie rocks my world!!!!

Ain’t that the truth.
Thanks for the kind words!

So far, 60’s been fine. Got three bottles of whiskey for cracking that sixth decade!
We'll have to see that.
Thanks Rick. we have so many role models for aging well!
Marjorie, it was nice of you to center the bird in the middle of the frame. Wonderful that you appreciate David's hyper awareness.
Happy birthday, David! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks from me. As you can tell, I am quite the lucky guy!
Points for spotting the bird! I do what I can to make it easy to find things again, after the effort of seeing in the first place :)

Delightful perspective! Gives a glimpse of what my hiking companions experience...
Very nice job, Marjorie! and a thoughtful gift besides. Be careful or you may get roped in 😆
Happy Birthday David! 🦉
