I let bronze fennel grow here & there in my vegetable & flower gardens (prob couldn't stop it) because it is a fabulous pollinator plant. The flowers & foliage are ornamental enough to make beautiful cut flowers & the bulbs, of course, are yummy. I'll leave you with a favorite story told to me by my grandfather: growing up in Italy, his family had it growing by the garden gate & he would always pinch a sprig to chew before going out on a date. To sweeten his breath, in hopes of getting a kiss!!!
Maybe not WotW but here's what the world wide webthang says. "Emmenagogues are defined in herbal medicine as herbs capable of stimulating the menstrual flow even when it is not due, and are also to be avoided during pregnancy."

When does "emmenagogue" get a turn as Word of the Week?
