A wonderful description of the PNW seasons! Growing up in the south (well, Texas) and spending time in Southern California and Alaska, I appreciate the change of seasons in our area. My spouse grew up in the Midwest but spent over 30 years in Sacramento. She missed the seasons and it is one of the things she likes about the PNW. We both believe the PNW has (wonderful) four distinct seasons. I am partial to fall, especially if there was smoke during the summer.
I appreciated your inclusion of the fifth season, smoke. There is a terrific "fifth season" display at the new Winthrop WA public library, put on by Clean Air Methow. https://www.cleanairmethow.org/seasons
